~Encoding experience in sp3-hybridized structures

Dear (~Sac of ~70% water labeled) Dr. Danko Nikolic

Thanks for the links to your helpful articles and blog.  I must admit I have been slightly confused and  intimidated,  when I read your earlier posts,  by your choices of names for the trial theory and name for the  set(s) of principles you are seeking and developing.  However, I was pleased this weekend to read a little about the "cybernetic variety" of multiple-state artifacts and more about practopoiesis and your appreciation for biological components being directly involved with energetically advantageous adaptations, some of which we humans have the tendency to label as "intelligent". 

After reading your perspective in your most recent post re: Encoding experience in spikes,  and reading a very small smattering of some articles at your site,   I came across the following in your articles which may be helpful to other less determined readers:

"Practopoiesis states that the key for achieving intelligence through adaptation is an arrangement in which mechanisms laying a  lower level of organization,  by their operations and interaction with the environment, enable creation  of mechanisms lying at a  higher level of  organization."


"practopoiesis means creation of actions"  --

Or, if the the term is praxis + poieosis, then that may point toward "the acceptable or customary act or process of creation". 

  And, as you wrote, anapoieosis refers to "re-construction".  All of which, in my single-minded pattern-recognition circuits, reduce down to something about structure, and from the description of practopoiesis above,  in your "arrangements of... one level of organization ... supporting ...another level of organization",  you already are relying upon the active underlying general principle of
nested structured~duality.    (All of reality and all things have some structure, and things have or exhibit one or more dualities or differences.)

[...However,  today another possible adaptation, clarification or variation on this theme may be worded: reality being nested structured actions, or structured~activities....  It still also reduces down to reality being nested fields within nested fields, but it may be useful variety for structured~duality-phobes to consider...]
Your "so-called T3- practopoietic systems" (having some internal storage) relating to encoding experience in synaptic depolarization patterns MAY have relevance,  for some functions, however,   I believe a much stronger instance of relevant "customary act of creation" --practopoiesis-- is present, not just in down-gradient, secondary  depolarization complexes, but in the primary energy transaction within the aerobic respiration reaction itself. 

I mean, if you dial back and consider very early forms of organized behaviors, before the secondary coordination or conditioning synaptic features developed, the basic energetic-structural transaction   for aerobes is:

organics + oxygen -> water+carbon dioxide+energy
                                  (+ new cells)

Surprisingly enough, if one looks carefully at a water molecule it is roughly like a tetrahedron with two positive and two negative vertices and so as a molecule of water forms within or exits the respiration reaction relative to an enfolding field, it can do so in at least six orientations. ...Consider a tetrahedron within a cube. A cube has six faces, so the two positive vertices can orient on one of six faces. This means that a chain of n-molecules can form, I have traditionally thought and described as, in 6^n different patterns.  

[The cube actually has 12 diagonals, though so the actual variety  for such a system may be, or be thought of as having 12 states leading to 12^n combinations in a chain of n-molecules. Call it a high number, with the biology being inherently more robust and flexible than the familiar 2^n digital/Boolean patterns.]

Since physics says, roughly, that everything influences everything else, repeating vibrations in the surroundings, for instance, a mother repeating "Danko, Danko" to a young infant,  physics says that similar or the same stacks and sequences of  the ~6^n "ordered water" units would be forming at affected respiration sites.

That is, vibrations in the surroundings would naturally form internal  structurally coded representations of our surroundings, let's say, at or near the respiration level of organization.

If we pick n as 12 or as 18 molecules,  6^n yields 2.2x10^9 or 10^14 different possible associations. Also, in this approach, there is just the single internal ~language so having instances of semantic or context-related ideasthesia  arise  is moderately likely.

We can go a few more steps down this rabbit hole by noticing that environment/respiration-driven structural coding of stacks and sequences of "ordered water" is also a basic poieosis of packets of hydrogen-bonding. Hydrogen-bonding is related to and/or is involved in  protein-folding and thus quite closely associated with ~all human expression.  

Similarly, one might loosely consider such rapid structural coding  of speech and meaning, particularly ALL of that related via words since each of those words has or is a pattern of protein-folding.  Thus, the woman who experienced mirror-speech syn/idea-sthesia could just be more sensitive than the rest of us to the structural coding from what she registers/hears as human speech.  We all (our aerobic cells) all have the structural coding going on. She may be sensitive to or registers the hearing as speech.  

Incidentally, people respire about 160 kg of oxygen per person per year. That calculates out to moderately high rate of 10^20 molecules of water per second, body-wide. 

Another feature relating to naturally encoding experience in ordered water -- in hydrogen-bonding packets, is that as or if longer-term memory involves some protein synthesis as various researches indicate, bound water within newly forming protein matrices within an affected cell would have a natural tendency to include the experience~conditioned ordered water.  This type of more persistent structurally-coded formation process would also give some common account for stress-related epigenetic adaptations, and, to the extent that it happens, processes of relocating and re-constructing (anapoieosis) of memories from one location or region to others during ~brain maintenance.  

Getting ye olde practopoieosis running, as it is, at the respiration/ordered water level of organization has properties which are somewhat akin to creating concepts, and also, naturally deeply interconnected with our "me-ness", the 'self'.  

The action(s) of experience induce a related resonance within the synergetically related ordered water/hydrogen-bonding level of organization. However, the structural coordination is innately coupled with the practical energy flow and energy conservation. Thus, structural coding which performs useful actions with less requirements for energy (respiration), for example via structurally related ~enzymatic catalysis, or productive inhibition via steric hindrance, ought to replicate faster than sructurally coded pathways or alternatives which require more energy.   Coupling structural and energetic features together at this level of organization then relates to, let's say, the overall energy value of the transaction, which, regardless of the complexity of the vocabulary used to describe "the concept", would already have proven it's 'worth' at this basic practopoieosis level. 

Unwinding all of this lower level or older level process and re-considering or re-constructing it, say, as respiration within mitocondrial sites near or within synapses,   disparate, previously conditioned  synapses could be triggered into synchronous activity  when an environmental vibration spawned formation of common "ordered water" stacks or sequences in the related but distant cells. Also,   openings and closings of various vessels, or slight protein-folding alignments could also be replicated given replicated hydrogen-bonding packets  -- forming for a particular environmental signal/condition.

As well, any discussion about steps in neural transactions involving the concentrations of, say Na+, Ca++, K+, Cl-, etc.,  or, for that matter, larger organics (neurotransmitters socketed at receptors), necessarily should also always consider and include the respiration-related changes in water molecules in the active regions since one can alter concentrations of ions either by changing ion populations or changing water molecule populations.  Respiration plays that game.

In this way, along with related changes in the slower changing genetic structural coding, can one visualize and consider  how practopoieosis also proceeds to rationally encode experience within our sp3-hybridized structures at the respiration level of organization. 

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and criticisms on formation of active structures at this level of organization. 

In the meanwhile, I hope to work my way through your arxiv and other paper(s).
